New product from Meopta: The Meopta MeoSport R 3-15x50 RD riflescope

Meopta is launching a new entry-level riflescope in 2022 with the MeoSport R 3-15x50 RD riflescope. In terms of price, it is in the lower segment, but you don't have to do without the quality of the Czech manufacturer Meopta.

The MeoSport R has a 4C reticle in the 2nd image plane, so the reticle does not increase when you zoom in. This property is an advantage for hunters and sports shooters, but it is not really an advantage for long-range shooting, since the calculation of distances is much more cumbersome. The 4C reticle is a hunting reticle that is particularly popular with hunters, sport shooters use more tactical reticle with MilDot subdivision.

The scope has a 5x zoom and an average central tube diameter of 30 mm, these properties make it a good all-round optic. The relatively large lens diameter of 50 mm also allows shots in the dark, even if the Meopta MeoSport R 3-15x50 RD rifle scope is not a specialist for the night. The transmission in daylight is decent at 80%, which is also thanks to the MeoBright™ coating of the lenses. The eye relief is specified by Meopta as 100 mm and is therefore very generous. The MeoSport™ R is therefore also suitable for mounting on large caliber weapons. The rifle scope is waterproof and fogproof, the nitrogen filling prevents fogging in humid weather.

The adjustment turrets have a zero-stop function with locking, so the scope can be easily adjusted to new targets. From there, the riflescope can be adjusted with the very fine subdivision of 1/10 MRAD (milliradian) and external influences such as wind can be taken into account. The reticle is adjusted by only 1 cm at a distance of 100 m per click, so shots at long distances and small targets are also possible. The maximum adjustment range is 262 cm at a distance of 100 m, the parallax compensation is from 10 yards to infinity. A diopter compensation for spectacle wearers is from -3 to 2 D. The MeoSport R rifle scope is supplied without a rail, but including Picatinny mounting rings with a height of 38.1 mm. The scope is 338mm long and weighs 499g. The illuminated dot does not overshadow and is easy to read even in difficult lighting conditions, the entire construction including lenses is absolutely bulletproof even with strong recoil of the firearm. The MeoSport R rifle scope has an RRP of €499.00.
