Rilfe Scope Reticles
The most common rifle scope reticles for hunting, sport shooting and military use. Hunting reticles such as reticle 1, 4, 8 and duplex, as well as tactical reticles such as BDC (Ballistic Drop Compensation) and MilDot (Milliradiant [MRAD]) are shown. The tactical reticles are often used for long-range shooting because they can be used to estimate the wind and the falling of the bullet. The smaller the distance, the less helpful tactical reticles are. Tactical reticles are also known as range raticles.
Many manufacturers use slight modifications or extensions of these reticles in their rifle scopes. The addition "i" stands for the illuminated version of the reticle.
